In life, everyone wants everything to happen quickly, we want it already prepared, and made exactly how we ordered it… or at least we would prefer things to happen immediately rather than having to wait for it… I know I would. However, few seem to grasp that patience is a virtue, and if we think about everything in which we value the most; such as your house, your job, your car, any relationship you have… it all has taken time to attain it, develop it, and it all takes time and energy to consistently manage it. So a certain level of patience is required simply in having it, because it wasn’t just something that was quickly received, and able to get without working for it.

I believe that we all should be thankful for what we have, regardless if we worked for it or not. There are people all over the world who work hard everyday just to get by, and yet I constantly see people around me who don’t want to create anything, learn anything new, who don’t want to put any extra effort into doing anything… in essence, all they do is receive. They are Receivers, not Givers.  And all the while, they are not gracious for what was given to them… and they live their lives with the mentality of — “I want what I want, and I want it now.”

It’s the philosophy that’s embedded with selfishness and pride. The mentality of, “I paid for this, and since I don’t feel what you’re giving me is exactly what I wanted… take it back and I want another one!”, can be seen in their attitude and throughout their decisions in life. I believe it’s one that doesn’t respect the process of what goes into creating something… and that’s because people with that mentality usually have never created anything.

I feel this “I Want.. I Want”  mentality will affect your relationships, your career, and ultimately your future.

You know, though it really annoys me to be around selfish and prideful people, I really do feel for some of them. I think for many people with this mentality, especially in the case of women, it seems to be a large disparity between the true reality they live in and the lifestyle they project. Because if they were satisfied with their reality, they would be more thankful for what they do have… at least that’s a perspective I have… which may be totally off btw. Anyways…

I’m just tired of being around people who aren’t interested in creating anything, but always want stuff… I don’t want to live a dull life and I’m not going to live one either. And, life can be so dull and black and white, if you are not bringing color to it by doing something proactive, positive, creative, artistic, or working towards building something.
