November Dreaming…

It’s Sunday afternoon, and I’m usually in church or actually leaving from church right about now. But, this weekend has been a little different for me. Fyi, tomorrow will actually mark the second week that I’ve been living in New Orleans, and as of right now I really believe I made the right choice to move here.

So, yesterday was Halloween, but it was also the weekend of the Voodoo Festival–which is a huge music and arts festival that has all sorts of activities and experiences on the festival grounds. Thousands and thousands of people come every year. It’s pretty expensive and it draws major artists. But, I’ve never heard of it until a few weeks ago when I applied to work for Toyota as a brand ambassador for the event, which I’ve been working at all weekend doing 10 hours shifts standing up all day.

Anyway, we got off early last night (Halloween) due to the rain and weather conditions. So, after work I grab something to eat and talk on the phone for a while, then I get in the bed tired. I wake up this morning, remembering a crazy dream! Here is the overall theme of the dream: I’m dating two different girls in a dreamlike situation. I’ll try to summarize the dream as best I can… here it goes.

DREAM: I’m walking with a girl–girl #1— (I’ve never met her in real life), and we’re joking around as if we’re on a date. It’s like we’re in the downtown of some city. Then, I take her back to her house and we chill out in the living room on the floor. She’s not the prettiest girl, but I’m really enjoying myself. I find out she lives with her parents, and I meet her dad. Who by the way is huge! He’s like a 7 foot skinny, classy looking, very respectful guy. So, I’m like your dad is so cool! Then the dream changes.

Now, I’m on a date with another girl–girl #2— (I vaguely know this girl in real life, but I’ve never liked her). It feels like we’re in a really nice high school classroom chilling by ourselves, with the desks pushed to the sides. We’re kissing and hugging flirting with each other. And, we start making plans on what we’re going to do for the weekend, but I don’t want to make any commitments because in the dream I knew I was dating two girls, and I liked both of them. Then the dream changes.

I’m walking in the house of girl #1, and I’m so surprised to see my old pastor sitting at the bar in the kitchen typing on his laptop. I’m like, “Hey! How are you? What are you doing here?”, because I haven’t seen him in so long. He was like, “Hey Jason, I’m just hanging out with Bob (or whatever name girl #1’s father is).”. Then the father comes in, we all chill for a little while, then my old pastor goes back to working on his laptop while I go talk to girl #1’s father. In the dream it seems as if we go different places. But, all in all, I’m having a good time with her dad. Then all of a sudden I’m all alone walking into girl #1’s house. As I go back into her house I stand by a doorway to where I can see her, but she can’t see me. And I watch her as she does something in the living room. — end of DREAM.

First of all, I do believe God speaks to me through dreams, and I feel that He was speaking to me in this dream. Though I’m not currently dating anyone, it is on my heart to pursue a relationship with someone. I feel like in the dream, girl #1 represented a woman who wasn’t perfect, yet lived with Godly beliefs and values, because my old pastor was at her house, and her dad represented God. And, girl #2 represented a woman who was a great girl, yet lived a life without strong beliefs or values. I believe the dream was telling me in making decisions on who to date, to make sure I choose a woman who has a close relationship with God.

Great interpretation! I loved reading. I’ve been praying for God to speak to me regarding relationships as he has done with you. Until then……..I’ll be very patient.
