Sexuality and Prejudice in America

Some of the biggest controversies in today’s society deal with emotional health and sexual preference. Dave Chappelle recently did a comedy special on Netflix called “The Closer”. I haven’t seen it yet, but everyone is talking about it. Why?? I’m happy you asked. Dave made a few jokes about the transgender community and many of them are labeling Dave (or his jokes) as transphobic.

Ok… so, Dave didn’t harass or discriminate the LGBTQ community. He simply spoke the truth. However, it was so real, that people could only laugh at it. One of things he said in the comedy special was, “…In our country, you can shoot and kill a n***a, but you better not hurt a gay person’s feelings.”

Well, Dave did hurt a few feelings… not that he cares. So, now the transgender community is protesting Netflix because their feelings were hurt.

So, I started thinking… what is the transgender community exactly? Who are they? Like do they have a Facebook page 🙂 . Ok, let me be serious. I have a difficult time understanding how to identify those who identify as transgender. Is transgender different from being a man or a woman? Is it a gender type? Or, is it a type of sexual preference within the LGBTQ community? I don’t know… all of this is just too confusing.

Some time ago, I remember seeing an image of a transgender woman, Leyna Bloom, on the cover of Sports Illustrated (SI) magazine. Many in the LGBTQ or transgender community felt this was a huge milestone.

Yeah, Leyna looks nice, but people don’t truly understand all that is required to go through a full transformation process from one gender to another. It is generally very costly (over $100,000), both financially and emotionally. Plus, it generally requires a lot of travel, hospital stays and can take years to complete.

Another thing I find interesting is very few transgenders actually honestly discuss how and why they switched genders.

All of this makes me realize… only rich people are able to finance a transgender transformation process, which may be another reason why the transgender community is so small.

So why is gender and sexual preference so important nowadays? Why does it matter?

I hate how the LGBTQ community is marketing their sexual preference and lifestyle to the adolescent minds of America, creating a false pretense of normalcy. Almost every time I watch TV I see a commercial where adult men are romantically kissing and holding hands… which I have only seen in real life maybe once or twice.

Less than 5% of U.S. adults claim to be apart of the LGBTQ community… which equates to around 3% of all people in the U.S. Although they are a small sect of our country, their influence in the media has greatly increased since same-sex marriage was legalized in 2015, and it is steadily increasing.

So, how does a very small group like the LGBTQ community have so much power? Especially when they have no widely respected leader and no true way to identify members. I am sure the core objective of the LGBTQ community has little to nothing to do with equality nor justice… but, their agenda is more about money and power. They don’t care about people’s livelihood. They aren’t out here fixing homes after a disaster. Their goal is to acquire power through media attention.

The media has forcefully pushed the agenda of the LGBTQ community into American society. Normalizing their lifestyles, ideas, and moral ideology… of which is a misrepresentation of most Americans.

Outside of a few exceptions, I believe a person’s sexual preference has nothing to do with their civil rights.

If a real study was done on the LGBTQ community, we would likely learn that they represent some most affluent people in the U.S. And, they are very emotionally sensitive, so you can’t make jokes about them… at least that’s what Dave Chappelle learned.

I believe sexual intimacy is the language of youth, and spiritual intimacy is the language of life.

In my opinion, Dave didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. He made one joke about transgender people and now they are trying to cancel his show and slander the company that produced it… seriously. So, who is the victim here? In my opinion, I feel the transgender community is bullying and being prejudice against Dave.

I’m a Christian. Does that mean I’m transphobic? No. If God doesn’t hate transgender people, or those who are involved in the LGBTQ community… then why should I? A gay or transgender person is just like anyone else to me. I don’t even advocate my own sexual preference 🙂 . I just follow the two greatest commandments.

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Matthew 22:37-39
